December 2, 2018

A new quest, discovery/revelation or getting clear about your purpose. The Ace of Swords means business - it's time to pledge your allegiance.
"It's as if a king has sent you to some country to do a task, and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do. So human being come to this world to do particular work. That work is the purpose, and each is specific to the person. If you don't do it, it's as though a priceless Indian sword were used to slice rotten meat...  It's like a knife of the finest tempering nailed into a wall to hang things on."
- The One Thing You Must Do, Rumi
Aces indicate new energy forming within our lives, in this case in the suit of ideas, communications and strategies. The first in their suit are all divine callings, and as the traditional tarot decks illustrate, are brought in through the hand of God (see clouds, that means shit is special). December's energy will ask us - are you doing the thing you've been put on the planet to do?

This card always makes me think of King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone. This energy is the blessing and the burden of destiny, which weighs heavier upon us when we side-step our purpose or deny our gifts and talents.

December builds upon the forward momentum of last month (theme of the Chariot), so massive changes will still be unfolding, only now you should have a clear idea of your plan of action. You may also receive big news, a revelation, or a cutting truth. There are tasks that are made for us, that only we can accomplish. We each have our Sword in the Stone - now it is time to begin the quest, answer the call and prepare for battle.
